The ECOLUX-Valo blue security light, designed like a fluorescent lamp, helps deter crime with its blue light. In Glasgow, Scotland, the installation of blue streetlights in 2000 led to an unexpected side effect: a reduction of 10,000 crimes in the area over the course of a year. In Japan, the first blue streetlight was introduced in 2005 in Akishinodai, Nara City. As a result, areas with blue security lights reportedly saw a 38% decrease in crime rates in the first year.
